TALLAROOK PARK - ACTIVITIES / SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

Saturday Saddleclub Saddle Club Saturday 21st January 10am to 4pm. Cost $80 per rider. Riders need to bring packed lunch box, drink bottles, sun protection and all riding gear. A day of morning arena session, followed by lunch break, an afternoon of jumping, games and bareback riding. Bookings essential, first in first served basis. Term 1 2012 – starting Wednesday 1st February. Riding lessons and activities will be run on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons for term 1.

Shows and Events

Gosnells Breed Show in February is likely to be our first outing with our lovely Palomino Riding Pony colt Gordon Park Peter Pan. He is estimated to mature at approx 12.1h, he is just lovely with a devine temperament and has that special look at me bonus.
Friday Night Dressage we intend to attend as many of these as possible in preparation for our 2 older riders Jessica and Zoe to compete in the Elementary dressage at the 2011 Interschools event. We have a new rider joining our small team for 2011, Ryley Cladingboel will compete on Gordon Park Music Box.
2011 is planned to be a big year for our team of show horses, we have a team of horses travelling to the Grand Nationals in Sydney. This is the pinnacle of the show horse events with international judges, it is by invitation only as all horses have to gain qualification at the top class shows and events in each state. There are only 4 chances to qualify in WA each year, we have Gordon Park Music Box, Owendale William of OZ, and Tallarook Park Quest, both junior Riders Jessica Bartlett and Zoe Horton have qualified by winning their rider championships at the qualifying shows also competing at the 2011 Grand Nationals.
Kirralea Cabaret is also going to be set to compete in some dressage and ODE events once we have weaned her baby. Cabaret is only a 10 yr old mare with so much more to offer a junior rider, Jessica Bartlett will compete Cabaret for 2011.
Our lovely mare Leanda Idle Gossip is also back in WA, Scarlet as we know her is now a 6 yr old and although she had a stable accident as a 2 yr old, which resulted in scaring on the back legs. We are currently starting Scarlet under saddle and she is likely to be very competitive we may put her in the newcomers and see how she stands up against the best galloways with her legs. Scarlet has a beautiful nature and will most likely breed on from her again. Her first foal Tallarook Park Hot Gossip also had a freak paddock accident and injured her sacro-illiac joint, consequently she was not persuid under saddle and is on lease to Cherokee Lodge stud as a broodmare for a few seasons.

Past Events

Wallangarra ODE 30th May 2010
Unfortunately we were not able to get all riders into the ODE. Jessica Bartlett and her pony Rex, Jessica will also be riding Tinkerbell in the Open E grade. Zoe Horton will be riding Print in the Open D Grade also. Wishing those riders a great day at the first ODE Tallarook riders and horses have done in some time due to showing commitments.

EFA WA Winter Gala 12th + 13th June 2010 – Brigadoon
One of the biggest shows on the Calendar, with Judges Simon De Leuw and Joh Bailey from the Eastern States. Tallarook Park have a team of show horses competing over the weekend. Good Luck all, hope the weather is fine.

Gosnells Winter Breed Show 8th August
One of the biggest Breed Shows in WA, also one of my favourite. At this stage not sure which horses will be attending. No doubt a nice day it will be.

Friday Night Dressage 5th March 2010 - Brigadoon
Jessica Bartlett will be competing both her own pony Rex and Tallarook Pony Tinkerbell in the Novice 2c on Friday 5th March. Tinkerbell has been entered into the Newcomer Dressage competition run by Sponsor Bluefields Stud and if successful enough Jess may be selected at the end of the year to ride in the run off of the newcomer dressage ponies in 2010.

Saturday Saddle Club 6th March 2010 9.30am - 1pm Cost $60 per rider
Riders participate in arena lessons, jumping with fun games and bareback riding. Open to all riders of all ages, sun hat, sun cream and riding gear essential with a packed snackbox and drink bottle also. Bookings essential limited positions available.

13th and Sun 14th March EWA Novice/Intermediate Show Horse Championship Show - Brigadoon
This is one of the Major Shows on our calender, with Eastern States judges Team Tallarook will be taking Vinni and Johnny who will be competing in the Novice/Intermediate rings in the morning. With Star, Rex, and Tinkerbell cometing in the afternoon Open Rings also.

27th + 28th March All Arabian Show - Brigadoon WA
Another major show on the calendar, with International and Eastern States Judges Team Tallarook have entered: Tinkerbell, Johnny Elvis and OZ. Good luck riders and Handlers, hopefully it is not too hot indoors at Brigadoon.
