Very exciting news – we are expecting our 2nd baby Girl in March 2012. As we wait our special arrival, we have reduced horse numbers drastically and are no longer offering a commercial riding school as of the end of December 2011. We still run some riding lessons and agistment on a very small scale, I do have a small selection of schoolmaster ponies/galloways available for private, small group lessons by appointment. We would like to thank all our clients who have been riding some for many years and wish them all the best with their future riding endevours.
We would like to welcome the latest arrival at our stables, Owendale Jessica. Jessica is a full sister to our stable star OZ, Jessica will be shown as a newcomer in 2012 in the Large Show Hunter Pony section. With her massive movement and startling resemblance of OZ she is sure to be another show stopper.

Overnight accommodation for country competitors: We have overnight/weekend accommodation for your horse available. Excellent WIWO stables, Arenas, Warm water wash bay and if needed we can make room for the owner too. Heaps of room for float parking, day/night paddocks available on request. Cost from $40 per horse = 24 hours(includes Hay).

Held at the Serpentine Horse and Pony Club Grounds. Interstate Judges Leonie Roberts (NSW) and Shane Ackerly (NSW) flew in to judge 2 full packed days of events for horses and riders.  Owendale William Of OZ – Champion Show Hunter Small Galloway, Gordon Park Music Box – Reserve Leading Rein Pony.  As this is one of the 4 shows which qualify the champions and reserve exhibits for the 2012 Grand Nationals, we were again fortunate to qualify our 2 beautiful horses again.  Our other horses Penley Geometric and Gordon Park Elite, placed well throughout the weekend and looked great.

Gordon Park Music Box  -had a great start to the day on the Saturday, winning the Champion 1st Ridden Pony for the third successful year in a row! Music Box then took her 9 yr old rider to Champion Junior rider under 12yrs. Music Box then went onto win the Pony 11.2 -12hh height class also.
Owendale William of OZ  -had another very successful show, being awarded Reserve Champion Show Hunter Galloway, again another Grand National Qualification and Invitation to the 2012 show held in Sydney.
Top That of Astral – had a great show placing in his 2 classes, New owner Jessica Bartlett is improving each show with Cricket as he is known at home.

Due to such a long day turned into an all nighter on Saturday, we all decided to sleep in on the Sunday and forfeit the rider and minor classes on Sunday.

Rosie has been a stable star,with her impressive show results, this is a super pony available to a top show home only. Rosie is a forward big moving pony who also is talented and keen at jumping.

Grand Nationals Trip: We all had a wonderful trip to Sydney in April this year, Gordon Park Music Box and Karma Park Print attended the shows. We met some great new friends and stayed at the Landmark Christian Camp in Mangrove Mountain. We enjoyed our stay with owners Warren and Rona at their beautiful property.

Unfortunately Music Box couldn't compete in the Grand Nationals the following week, going from our dry WA climate to the Wetter NSW climate Music Box suffered a hoof abses and much to all our dissapoinment was scratched from the following weekend.

Jessica Bartlett rode Karma Park Print on the weekend of the Grand Nationals in her Rider 12-15yrs, Jess stepped up and rode beautifully and Print was his usual reliable self. Jess did herself proud and was thrilled to participate in such a prestigious event.

In the 2 weeks we were away in NSWE we also found a new show hack to join the stables. Top That of Astral has arrived and will be competing later in the year. Cricket as he is known is a beautiful boy who was placed top 10 Show Hunter Small Hack at the Grand Nationals 2011. We look forward to his progress into our stables. With such an important trip such as the Nationals, we have not been out and about as much this year competing our horses as much as I would have liked to.

General Stable News/Results:
Gosnells Summer Breed Show Feb 2011 - we again had a small team of horses attend with great results. We had 2 riders competing and both made the top 5 ridden selection of the show, with over 150 horses entered the Tallarook kids had a great day once again.

Orange Grove Breed Show - was a lovely show with good weather, with the International Judges judging I don't think I have ever seen so many horses and floats on the Orange Grove grounds in my lifetime. There was standing room only at some points. We took a small team of horses and were thrilled with our results:

Perth Royal Show 2010
Team Tallarook was again in the top line ups, Gordon Park Music Box was placed 2nd in her pony hack classes with regular rider Jessica Bartlett. Ryley Cladingboel rode Music Box for her Kindy Rider a special class for the little riders 9yrs and under, Ryley was placed 2nd in a big field. Ryley then rode Music Box in the Junior Smartest on Parade Turnout for another 2nd place.
Jessica Bartlett was our star rider of the show winning her rider 14 + 15yrs and being awarded Reserve Champion Junior rider riding Karma Park Print. This was Jess first qualification to compete at the 2011 Grand Nationals in her riding competition. Jess also competed on Tallarook Park Quest placing in his pony hack classes.

Wallangarra ODE Sunday 10th October 2010
Team Tallarook had 2 of our regular competitors, Jessica Bartlett rode her own Penley Geometric and our beautiful Gordon Park Music Box. Jess and Penley Geometric had a great dressage test and was leading after dressage, Jess also had a nice test on Music Box who was 2nd after dressage. Both clear in the SJ, Penley Geometric had one stop on X-Country and Music Box with some time penalties. Jess and Penley Geometric was 2nd overall in the Open E Grade over 13yrs and was 6th on Music Box over all.
Zoe Horton Rode Karma Park Print who was unsettled before dressage after another competitor fell off and the pony came bolting back to the float area. Zoe and Print were 5th after dressage, clear SJ and had 2 stops at the water, finishing 11th overall in the Open D grade 15yrs and over. Zoe also rode Tallarook park Quest at his first ever ODE event, a nice test placing them 5th after dressage, clear SJ and X-Country was somewhat overwhelming for Quest who thought the jump judges were monsters out to get him.
A great day had by all, Team Tallarook would like to attend all 3 of the Wallangarra ODE events and will also move onto the EWA eventing courses in 2011 joining the professional eventers with our horses.

Kelmscott Ag Show 16th October
With a big team of 6 horses in total. Gordon park Music Box was Champion Small Pony, Tallarook Park Quest was Reserve Champion Large Pony, Owendale Willaim of OZ was Champion Show Hunter hack, Penley Geometric was Champion Show Hunter Pony, Karma Park Print was Reserve Galloway and Zoe Horton was awarded Champion Junior Rider for the 2nd year at Kelmscott Ag show. A lovely day with great results.

Riverside Show 17th October
Pushing on from Kelmscott Ag the day before we took Tallarook Park Quest who was again Reserve Large Pony , Penley Geometric Champion Large Show Hunter Pony, Karma Park Print was Reserve Galloway, Gordon Park Music Box was ridden by Ryley Cladingboel in the novice junior ring for Reserve Champion Pony. A lovely day and all horses are now qualified for the 2011 Royal Show.

Saturday 13th November - Owendale William of OZ was sashed Supreme Show Hunter, Supreme Welsh and Runner up Champion of Champion Ridden of the show.
Sunday 14th November - Tallarook Park Quest - Reserve Large Pony under MS Bev Richards (VIC)

EWA - Indoor Dressage Finals 13th November - Jessica Bartlett was invited to compete in the final of the Preliminary dressage, her win at the WA State Dressage Championships earlier in the year put her on the short list for an invitation. Jess competed her own Penley Geometric in the Preliminary and was awarded with Champion Dressage Pony, a beautiful Rosette and another Wool Rug to add to her collection.

Wallangarra ODE 31st May 2010
It's been a while between ODE events for Tallarook Park, unfortunately most of the Local ODE events have clashed with our big show dates in recent seasons.  We were lucky to squeeze in the Wally ODE, unfortunately not being able to get as many riders and horses entered as possible. We will definitely be putting our entries in early for the Next event.
Zoe Horton competed on Karma Park Print in the Open D Grade 15yrs and over, with a clear lead in the dressage of 44.3, Clear in the Show Jumping, Print was not too keen on the Water Jump gaining 2 refusals and a few time penalties was enough to knock Zoe and Print down to 6th place overall. With a bit of work on the Water Jump Zoe and Print will sure be at the next ODE event.
Also competing from Tallarook Park was Jessica Bartlett riding her own Penley Geometric and our  Gordon Park Music Box in the Open E Grade 13yrs and over. Again the Tallarook rider dominated the Dressage, Jess and Penley Geometric Dressage led the field on a score of 37.8. Jessica was also coming 2nd on Gordon Park Music Box on a score of 43.8. With a clear Show Jumping on both ponies, Penley Geometric had one refusal on the Cross Country course but no time penalties. Gordon Park Music Box was clear Cross Country and on time too.  Jessica was placed 1st Overall on Gordon Park Music Box and was placed 4th Overall on Penley Geometric. Jessica, Penley Geometric and Gordon Park Music Box will certainly be back for the next Wallangarra ODE along with a few more Tallarook riders who will all be out to have another great day of riding and great company.

Team Tallarook only had Print and Rex (Penley Geometric) attend this event, Qualifying both Zoe and Jessica for the 2010 Interschool's competition . It was nice for Tallarook riders to take out 1st and 2nd place in a big field of dressage juniors.
A big thank you to Lorraine from Clip Clop Video who also runs Lorraine's party Ponies. Lorraine took some lovely video of both riders which she will be doing at most shows she is attending. For $10 Lorraine videos your dressage/jumping and it is ready within 1 hour to take home on DVD.

Friday night Dressage 5th March - SEC Brigadoon EFA WA
Jessica Bartlett rode her own Penley Geometric (Rex), and Gordon Park Music Box (Tinkerbell) both in the Official Novice Pony 2C, Rex was 3rd and Tinkerbell was 4th. A lovely evening even more enjoyable as there was no plaiting required.

One of the big shows on our calendar, Eastern States Judges Cameron Boyle and John Paget came in to judge the show. Sarah Parry and her own horse Mojo were sashed Champion Novice Show Hunter Galloway and Champion Open Show Hunter Galloway.
Jessica Bartlett rode her own Penley Geometric to Champion Open Show hunter large pony, with Casey Russell Riding Star O Hearts (star) to Reserve Champion Novice Show Hunter Large Pony and Champion Open Show Hunter Large Pony.

Tallarook Park Quest and Gordon Park Cadenza attended as novice/intermediate ponies both placing in all events and improving throughout the day.

Gordon Park Music Box - Led and Ridden by Jessica Bartlett, 3rd Led Arabian RP Mare, 2nd up to 14.2h, Reserve Champion Junior Rider, Champion Junior Handler of the Year.
Tallarook Park Quest - Reserve Champion Newcomer Ridden, 3rd Led Arabian RP Gelding, 1st Ridden class.
Owendale William of OZ - Reserve Led Arabian Pony, Reserve Deriv Ridden By a Youth.
The Arabian shows also hold the 'Ultimate Arabian Class' which is scored with a led WO and a Ridden WO.  Only the top 10 point scoring horses of the show are invited to compete, interestingly all 3 of our Tallarook horses were invited to compete.  Not a bad strike rate at our first All Arabian show in some time.

Young Kelly Hill was thrilled at her first 'Official' show horse competition riding Karma Park Print. Kelly rode Print to win all 3 Show Hunter Galloway classes and was sashed Champion Show Hunter Galloway with Judge: Lois Johnson

Perth Horse and Pony Club Championship Hack Show Saturday 8th May 2010.
Judges: Anthony and Suellen Dean (Vic) Llanfairbryn Stud. This show also incorporated the Welsh Pony and Cob Society Newcomer Welsh and Part Welsh classes. Our results were:

Show Horse Council Classic - Grand National Qualifying show 2010
Gordon park Music Box - Tinkerbell was sashed Runner up Lead-Rein pony with 5 yr old Junior Jockey Dakota Grosser. Tinkerbell then went on to win the Champion Open Small Show Pony with her regular rider Jessica Bartlett. A brilliant result for our golden pony gaining qualification to compete at the Grand National Championship show in Sydney in March 2011. This is Tinkerbells 2nd year of qualifying in both Lead-Rein and Open Show Pony.

Gosnells Summer Breed Show Sunday 7th February 2010

Jahweh Jireh Daniel (Mojo)-2nd Led Gelding and Champion Ridden Breed with his owner Sarah Parry. Sarah and Mojo have stepped up from the unofficial ring and will be attending and competing at most major shows in the Show Hunter section in 2010. Mojo certainly looked the part and they both have improved in recent months.

Star o Hearts -Star ridden by 10 yr old Casey Russell. 1st Best Presented, 2nd Mare led Arabian Pony, 1st Ridden Arabian Pony mare. A new partnership in 2010 Casey and Star will be attending all the major hack shows throughout 2010.

Gordon Park Music Box (Tinkerbell) -Ridden by Jessica Bartlett was Champion Ridden Palomino and then went on to beat all the big horses and win Champion of Champions ridden exhibit of the Summer Show 2010. Each breed has a champion ridden exhibit, from all 21 different Ridden breed champions judges pick a Top 5 and each of the 5 horses are required to perform a workout. Jess and Tinker worked the house down and took out the big award. Jessica (13yr) was by far the youngest rider and did a great job and was rewarded accordingly. Well done Riders a great show had by all. News from the show secretary, there was 244 horses entered at this years Summer Breed Show.

Riverside Riding Club Hack Show 14th February 2010

Gordon Park Cadenza -Vinni attended his 1st show under saddle with Zoe Horton as his jockey, Vinni worked very well and was awarded Reserve Champion Large Open Pony.

Penley Geometric - Rex ridden by Jessica Bartlett who is his owner. Champion Show Hunter Large Pony, Jessica also rode Rex to Champion Junior Rider of the day.

Star O Hearts - Ridden by Casey Russell, this was Casey and Stars 2nd show. Picking up a 1st in Rider 10 yrs and under, 2nd Show Hunter Pony and 2nd Show hunter Weight class. A nice day had by all, the weather forecast was to be hot. Lucky for us the show was all over and finished by 11.30am.

Owendale Sir William Percy - Being campaigned by Kayla Fletcher, this was Percy's first show under saddle ever! Kayla did a fantastic job and Percy enjoyed his outing without putting a foot wrong. He was awarded Reserve Champion Large Pony Show Hunter.

Riding Pony State Show Sunday 21st Feb 2010 Brigadoon WA

Tinkerbell was the only Tallarook Pony to attend this show,Placing 3rd in her Led Mare class from a strong field. Jessica Bartlett rode Tinkerbell in the Show pony and the Childs pony classes winning both. Casey Russell then took the reins for the 1st ridden and won that, Tinkerbell and Casey then rode off for Champion Pony. A nice day and was glad to get in the air-conditioned car to travel home.
